The Best and Biggest Collection of Campsite Reservation Websites
Welcome to the Technology Age! You Can Reserve Campsites Online!
Whether you are planning a cross country road trip, stealing away for a weekend in the wilderness, or planning a family vacation, this collection of websites is guaranteed to make your life much EASIER.
Over the past couple of years, my fiancé and I have discovered that we love to go camping. Both of us are fans of doing everything possible online and I have discovered the wonderful world of booking campsites via the internet.
It took me awhile to make my discovery of reserving campsites online because I found that there is no general collection of campground directories that allow online reservations. So... I decided to create one!
I have painstakingly compiled a list of websites that mostly allow you to make online reservations at federal, state, and some private campgrounds. I hope you find this directory of sorts helpful when planning your next camping trip!
Some Benefits of Booking a Campsite Online
- A lot of the reservation websites allow you to see a campground map and the exact location of your campsite. So, if you would prefer not to be next to the bathrooms or if you want to make sure your site is near a playground, the campground maps really come in handy.
- Some of the websites allow you to search out campgrounds that have a certain feature. For example, if you would like to find a campground that offers waterfront campsites, you can do a search for that specific feature and only campsites available on the dates you are searching for will pop up.
- If you have a specific campsite in mind, a number of websites display a picture of what your site looks like, so you know exactly what to expect upon arrival.
- Most of the websites offer specs on each particular campsite and include the distance to the nearest bathroom, the nearest body of water, the nearest water pump, and whether or not the campsite offers shade.
